June Holiday Programme- An Inspiring Journey into Chinese Art and Literature

From 4 June to 15 June, our students had experienced a week of June Holiday Programme which is filled with interesting and cultural learning.

In 5 June and 12 June, students had a fantastic opportunity to immerse themselves in Chinese literature and art during a special book culture trip at The Zall Bookstore. The event featured engaging activities, inspiring presentations, and hands-on workshops that brought Chinese heritage to life.

🌟 Highlights: Book Culture Trip- The Zall Bookstore

Introduction about Chinese Ink Painting
The highlight of the trip was a captivating session led by Mr. Zhou, President of the Singapore Writers’ Association (新加坡作家协会). Mr. Zhou introduced the students to the elegant art of Chinese Ink Painting, sharing its rich history and cultural significance. Through live demonstrations and storytelling, he showcased how this traditional art form expresses beauty and philosophy.

Storytelling with Puppets: West to the Journey
The story of the legendary monk and the Monkey King captivated the students, who listened attentively to the adventures and lessons embedded in the narrative.

Hands-On Activity: Paper Puppet Creation
Our young learners can create their own Monkey King- Wukong paper puppets, and this activity allowed them to learn about traditional puppet-making techniques, fostering their creativity and appreciation for Chinese storytelling arts.

A Delicious Lunch Break
The cultural exploration was complemented by a delicious lunch, featuring a variety of local and traditional dishes.

This book culture trip at The Zall Bookstore successfully combined education, art, and hands-on experience, leaving a lasting impression on all who participated. It was a wonderful journey into Chinese heritage, made memorable by passionate presenters and eager learners.
